The city's nickname, the Emerald City, reflects its year-round greenery, which creates a captivating backdrop for your elopement. Nature enthusiasts can find plenty of exploration opportunities among the mountains, volcanoes, lakes with turquoise water, hot springs, ancient forests, and driftwood-adorned beaches.

Seattle may not have tropical beaches like Hawaii, but it does have lavender fields, tulips, rose gardens, and sunflower farms. There may not be deserts and canyons, but there are dunes, valleys, and enchanting rainforests.

These natural landscapes provide an ideal setting for a fantasy elopement. A cozy cabin, a charming lighthouse, or an Airbnb with stargazing and a fireplace will make your elopement day or two-day celebration unforgettable.

Unlike certain states, like Colorado, where couples can have their pet as a witness at their elopement ceremony, Seattle doesn’t allow this. However, I can shoot elopements including your pets. It's a joy to include them in your special occasion.

Summer (July to mid-September)

Seattle's warm and sunny summer weather is ideal for adventure elopements. However, to avoid tourist crowds, you may want to explore off-the-beaten-track locations or opt for a sunrise elopement. Summer is also the season for hiking trails in the North Cascades and Mt. Rainier National Park, where you can exchange vows with magnificent mountain backdrops. Summer activities include paddleboarding on rivers, exploring ocean beaches, and ending the day stargazing in the mountains.

Fall (mid-September to October)

As the weather cools off, Seattle's landscapes transform with gorgeous fall colors. Popular tourist locations are less crowded and busy, making it an excellent time for an elopement. Remember to apply for the license 3–4 weeks before your elopement or intimate wedding day. Before the license can be returned for records, it must be signed by two witnesses and an ordained officiant.
