H. & D. | An Impromptu Elopement at Gold Creek Pond and Franklin Falls
I was nervous before this elopement, even though I knew everything would go as planned. It's hard to keep calm when hiking with someone who's recently had multiple leg surgeries after a ski accident.
H. used to be a world-famous ballroom dancer who loved her work, but the accident put her career on hold. This hike, which was supposed to be part of their elopement, became a test of strength.
H. and I discussed the possibility of eloping several times in the months leading up to it, wondering when H. would feel strong enough for a hike. After her last surgery, we decided on this adventure and chose a date at the last moment. Therefore, it turned out to be an intimate ceremony without guests.
H. and D. chose two relatively easy trails – the road to Gold Creek Pond and to Franklin Falls. At Gold Creek, the couple exchanged vows, and at Franklin Falls we held a sunset photoshoot.
Seeing the tears of joy in H's eyes, I was happy that I was more than just a witness to a momentous occasion for her and D. I was glad that they managed to do it, even though H's last surgery was only two months ago.
Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for showing me an example of courage. I’m so happy to be part of your story!
