The groom: Top-notch photography, and great people to know.

From the very first contact with Valerie and Pascha a sense of trust and excitement had begun. All throughout the months leading up to our wedding, Valerie communicated all the necessary details, helped us with choosing the best spot, and reassured us that our big day was going to be great. This was an understatement…

Valerie and Pascha have the past experiences and foresight to ensure everything went off without any problems. Our day was the most intimate, and special, day of my life. (I hope my wife too!) The expected services were performed with quality and ease, and then they went above and beyond by braving a squall on the beach, so my wife and I could enjoy every last minute together.

Looking through our photos, I am transported back to that day, our day. And thanks to Valerie and Pascha, that day will be cemented in history.

The bride: When I started my search for a photographer for our elopement, one of my biggest things was that I wanted photos that made you feel something when you looked at them. I wanted memories that not only captured moments, but were able to make that “day of” feeling return every time we looked at them. When Valerie sent over our sneak peek, all I could say was Wow! I could not recommend Valerie more. Valerie delivers everything she says she will and more.

Both Valerie and her husband Pasha made our day everything we could have dreamed of. They weren’t afraid to get dirty, or should I say, soaking wet. A downpour held off in to the evening portion of our day and it was hands down the coolest thing we could have had happen. Valerie and Pasha didn’t skip a beat when it came to running with it. If you’re looking for someone to invite along to capture a beautiful moment in your life, Valerie is the one.

Next to getting married, choosing Valerie and Pasha to capture our special day was by far the BEST decision we made for our elopement!

Photos are extremely important to us and we wanted to make sure that the photos were authentic and captured real moments. Valerie delivered that and so much more, the moments she captured were not only real but beautiful. Looking through the photos she took is like reliving the day.

While Valerie took great consideration for what we wanted for our photos she also made fantastic recommendations: for example choosing Ruby Beach for our elopement location and doing a golden hour (sunset) couples photo shoot. The lighting cannot compare and with Valerie’s talent/ skills, the photos were incredible. We’re thrilled to have these to reflect back on for the rest of our lives, they are such a gift.

It was such a joy to work with Valerie and Pasha. Valerie is so much more than just a photographer, her and her husband, Pasha, went above and beyond, and made the whole experience from our first email exchange to the day of our elopement easy and stress free.

Valerie was always available to provide us with feedback, ideas, and vendor recommendations. She gave us a complete list of vendors for cakes, hair and makeup, floral etc. which simplified the process and eliminated decision fatigue. It made all the difference in the world! She was on top of things and made sure we were on top of it too which was so helpful. Her communication was fantastic with regular contact and quick responses to our inquiries. Despite having many other clients to help, she really made you feel valued and top of mind. I cannot thank Valerie and Pasha enough for being our rocks during the stressful moments and providing kind words of reassurance that helped us focus on each other and having fun. Pasha married us, and he was so genuine, funny, and warm as an officiant and person in general. It felt like we had known him for years and he was a dear friend marrying us. Could not have asked for a better person for the job. Thank you, Pasha!

I could go on forever about Valerie and Pasha, what an incredible team! We are so happy we chose them. The photos are treasures and we will forever be grateful to Valerie and Pasha for helping to make our day fun, seamless, and beautiful! To summarize, you will not regret hiring this beautiful husband and wife team, I would get married all other again just to work with them.

Thank you so much, Valerie and Pasha!

Even in 2023- as a LGBTQ couple, it was a little worrisome finding a photographer that would be willing to work with us for our Elopement.

Thankfully we found Val and Pasha and immediately felt at ease. They both went above and beyond what we could have asked for leading up to/ and our big day.

We both are so grateful to Val and Pasha for all of their support and of course for our gorgeous Wedding photos. If you are looking for a photographer Valerie is the best choice! You will not be disappointed!

Elopement FAQs

The Most Common Questions About Elopement Wedding Nuances and Packages
  • Unlike a big traditional wedding, elopements are all about intimacy. They're personal, meaningful celebrations where you exchange vows in a private, breathtaking setting, like a mountain lake or forest trail. It's like escaping for a romantic adventure focused entirely on your love story.

Add some activities you both enjoy, such as stargazing, skiing, or soaking in hot springs. You can invite a few guests, and if your best friends happen to be pets, feel free to bring them along too!

  • One of the perks of eloping is that you're not tied to traditional wedding attire. Anything works, and it doesn't have to break the bank. Feel free to rock ripped jeans and a leather jacket if that's your vibe.

I've also written a blog post on how to choose the perfect elopement dress, complete with links to some of my favorite stores.

  • Looking for an elopement ceremony script? Let's craft it together. I'd be happy to discuss what it could entail and how we can plan it to perfectly reflect your vision.

  • When considering an elopement, one of the most nerve-wracking questions is what activities to include in your day when you're alone surrounded by nature's beauty. Be sure to explore my post on activities for your elopement here.

Feel free to book a call to discuss your ideas. Together, we'll find the best options.

  • Eloping gives you the freedom and privacy you want for your big day without having to follow traditional wedding rules.

There's nothing wrong with it, as long as you don't have to worry about offending those you don't invite, and how going off the beaten track may affect your family relationships and cultural traditions.

  • Imagine how fantastic your wedding photos would be on a mountaintop or in a tropical paradise. Elopements are an unforgettable, intimate way to celebrate your special day.

It’s a stress-free way to cherish meaningful memories and spend the most important day of your love story. Why elope? To make your wedding memorable, and turn it into an adventure

  • It varies and there’s no upper limit.

My photography packages start at $4,000 (+ sales tax). This includes an online gallery of edited, high-resolution images and GIFs, complimentary officiating service, location scouting, local vendor recommendations, and 24/7 planning assistance.

Additionally, you'll need to budget for special use permits for your elopement ceremony on public lands ($50-$500 based on location and guest count), accommodations at your destination (minimum 2 nights stay), wedding attire, flowers, rings, hair and makeup services, a marriage license ($60-$90 depending on the state and county), and other expenses based on your preferences.

If you want a destination elopement with a helicopter flight and a famous private chef, expect costs to be on the higher end.

  • Elopement photography is more than just snapping pictures and editing. It demands expertise in outdoor, adventure, or destination photography—a specialized skill set.

For each elopement, I invest significant time scouting locations, grasping the couple's vision, coordinating activities and vendors, and obtaining photography permits. Additionally, elopement photography frequently involves traveling to remote destinations for several days.

  • It can be hard to choose a place, so I offer free assistance. We'll work together to match your desires and preferences, considering factors like the time of year, your mobility and that of your guests, permit requirements, travel time, and other important details to find the perfect elopement location.

  • Elopement and traditional weddings offer different experiences.

Elopements are intimate and often adventurous events, focusing solely on the couple's bond, even if a few guests are present. Meanwhile, traditional weddings celebrate the union with numerous family members and friends, involving detailed planning and extravagant festivities.

The choice depends on your personal preference: elope for intimacy and simplicity, or choose a traditional wedding for a grand, communal celebration. Both paths lead to the same beautiful destination: marriage.
